What's Inside?

Turmeric - Powdered Botanical

Turmeric, also commonly known as Curcumin, is one of the most easily identifiable spices due to its gorgeous yellow-gold coloration. Turmeric is widely used in middle eastern cuisine and grows predominantly in southeast Asia and Africa. Turmeric has a warming, spicy flavor and is similar to ginger (they are from the same plant family). Ground Turmeric powder is traditionally used for culinary needs like flavoring curries and sauces, but is also frequently utilized in Ayurvedic medicine.

Turmeric is commonly used as an anti-inflammatory due to the high antioxidant content of Curcumin. Antioxidants like this help to protect the body from free radical damage and can reduce oxidation. We suggest adding this delicious spice to tea, with rice, roasted vegetables and other savory foods or blended into a smoothie!
