Should you use paper filters?

"The filters work well with the Toddy System. They increase the yield and the concentrate has less fine particles. It's much easier to clean up when using the filter. However, if you compost your grinds, the filter would be a waste. The filters are expensive, adding $1 for each batch brewed ( which ~ 10% of the cost of the coffee)."
