Kenya AA - Classic Coffee Pods

Cupping Notes: Peach Blossom, Orange Zest, Black Tea

This African coffee is bright, complex, exceptionally sweet, and shares a perfect balance and floral fragrance that most wet-processed Kenyan coffees possess. Our Kenya AA coffee has less of an acidic "bite" than other African coffees, allowing those who prefer lower levels of coffee acidity to experience the dynamic wine-like brilliance, fragrant fruit notes, and silky body of our Kenya AA coffee.

About the Farms:

Our Kenya AA coffee is a blend of AA grades from traceable sources. It comes mainly from Kimama Farmers Cooperative Society, Menu Farmers Cooperative Society, and Chwele Farmers Cooperative Society. The coffee is grown by smallholders, with roughly 200 trees each, and the freshly picked ripe cherries are delivered to cooperative wet mills.

Bungoma County is slowly becoming a big coffee producing region in Kenya. With its proximity to Mt Elgon, the area provides suitable growing conditions for coffee. Bungoma Town’s history dates to the construction of the Kenya-Uganda Railway in the 1920s. The origin of the name Bungoma could have been derived from a Bukusu word “engoma”, which is a drum that the Bukusu Elders used to summon people to meetings which could have consequently led the place to be described as the place of drums, i.e. Bungoma.

Ingredients: 100% Arabica coffee. OU Kosher certified. Produced in an SQF-certified, renewable energy-powered facility.

Smooth and Flavorful

"I have been a coffee lover for years, a good habit I inherited from my parents (they consumed 3-pounds per week. . . they both worked and never lost any sleep!). Over the years I have tried many roasters and finally found FRESH ROASTED via the internet. The Kenya AA coffees are superior for (see the title of this review). Fresh Roasted delivers my coffee quickly from the central Pennsylvania roaster. My daily ration of Kenya AA gives me a great start to the day. Thanks for providing a quality product. PS: I generally mix Kenya AA with an equal amount of Kenya AA Dark for an excellent brew."

Kenya AA is the BEST

"I was first introduced to Kenya AA on a not-too-distant trip to see a college friend who lives in Kenya. I brought home as many bags of AA as I could get under the weight limit. I tried several brands brokered by US Roasters. I have found FRC to have the closest version of that amazing coffee I experienced in Kenya!"

John Y. (5/5)

Excellent coffee

"This is the best coffee ever, not acidic and definitely has a wonderful flavor"

JoAnn B. (5/5)

Best Start to the Day!

"Kenya AA is my all time favorite coffee. No morning starts, can start without a freshly brewed cup. The right roasted blend of flavor and satisfying taste."

Rajiv K. (5/5)

Good coffee, but a bit too dark roasted for my taste

"A dark roast overwhelms the vibrant blackcurrant and wine-like acidity that make Kenya AA unique. Switching to a light or medium roast will restore its complex berry notes and bright, crisp finish."

Raghu C. (4/5)

Kenya Coffee Beans

"Coffee smells and tastes delicious. Thought I'd try as my Sumatra was out."

Carol C. (5/5)

Great African Coffee

"We went on Safari last summer. The coffee there was excellent. When we came home I searched for Kenyan, Tanzanian and Ethiopian coffee. I found it at Fresh Roasted Coffee and have been ordering since."

Barb D. (5/5)

Amazing coffee. I usually roast

"Amazing coffee. I usually roast my own green beans, but taking a break and tried this Kenya AA Roasted just like I roast mine. Not too light and not too dark. They call it Medium Dark Roast."

STEPHEN G. (5/5)

A less acidic choice

"This is a regular in our ordering rotation. We enjoy a lot of African coffee and find this less acidic. It's also our favorite variety for hostess or housewarming gifts."

Tammy W. (5/5)

"A wonderful blend of coffees. Full body and a flavor that is hard to beat"
