Hardier and more caffeinated than its Arabica counterpart, coffea canephora (commonly referred to as Robusta) is great for adding a little boost to your blend or achieving the holy grail of espresso crema. We recommend roasts on the darker side to get the best out of this bean. Despite its versatility, Robusta is often considered lackluster when compared to Arabica, having a bitter, overly strong taste at times. But if strong—and we mean strong—coffee is your thing, Robusta might be the best coffee you’ve ever had.

"My first order from Fresh Roasted and I got the Americas and Adventurer samplers along with a pound of Robusta unroasted. I roasted the Brazilian and the Robusta, both to a medium roast, and blended it. Let it degass a few days and brewed up a pot. Tasted awesome. Will definitely be getting more unroasted beans from them. Thank you Fresh Roasted Coffee!! Don Stankowski"

Q&A
Do you guys/gals roast these robusta beans for customers?
Hello! We have some blends that contain Robusta but we do not roast these beans as a single-origin. Team FRC
