The Kochere woreda (district) sits just south of the legendary Yirgacheffe town in Ethiopia's SNNPR (Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Region) — about 250 miles southwest of Addis Ababa. At soaring altitudes, in acidic, mineral-rich soil, coffee doesn't just grow here. It thrives.

Local farmers bring their harvested cherries to communal washing stations, a time-honored process that's central to Kochere's reputation for producing some of the finest Ethiopian coffee beans in the world. That careful, community-driven processing is exactly what you taste in every cup.
