Dark Kenya AA — Roasted Coffee

Experience one of Africa's most celebrated coffees in its richest form. Our Dark Kenya AA is a single-origin dark roast that balances bold body with the bright, wine-like fruit flavors Kenya is world-renowned for — a combination rarely achieved at deeper roast levels.

Bold, Fruited & Full of Depth

Grown by smallholder farmers in Bungoma County, each with fewer than 200 carefully tended trees, this Kenya AA coffee begins with hand-picked cherries delivered to the wet mill on the same day they're harvested. Same-day delivery isn't just a detail — it's the difference between exceptional coffee and ordinary coffee. From there, the cherries go through rigorous hand-sorting, traditional wet processing, and slow sun-drying on raised African drying beds before final dry milling. Every step is designed to preserve the flavors that make Kenyan AA coffee a benchmark for specialty roasters worldwide.

In the cup, expect an extra bold body with a sweetness that surprises, savory floral notes that linger, and the signature wine-like fruit character that wet-processed Kenyan coffees deliver like no other origin on earth. Despite the deep roast, the brightness never disappears — it's what sets this coffee apart.

Whether you're brewing pour-over, French press, or espresso, Dark Kenya AA delivers a complex, satisfying cup that rewards attention.

Better than Starbucks

"I used to buy the Kenya blend from Starbucks. Then I saw this brand and decided to give it a try because it was about half the cost and I was pleasantly surprised it's actually better tasting than Starbucks"

The dark Kenya single origin is it

"I got a new grind and brew so I bought different coffee beans. So far this one is the winner."

Linda M. (5/5)

I tried a 12oz bag

"I tried a 12oz bag to try out the coffee. The coffee was fantastic - roasted dark to perfection. The taste was spectacular too. However the body could be a bit bolder. Nonetheless, great coffee and highly recommended."

FRC Actually Ships Higher Grade Freshly Roasted Coffee

"There is a big difference between the taste of fresh roasted coffee and supermarket shelved coffee. Fresh Roasted Coffee is "fresh". Any freshly roasted coffee should be bagged with a one-way relief valve, as freshly roasted coffee de-gasses for several days after the roasting process. Any coffee that is vacuum packed isn't fresh. For best results, please consider investing in a burr-based coffee grinder. The storage life of freshly roasted beans is longer compared to ground coffee."

Mark C. (5/5)

Good but a little thin-bodied

"This is my first time ordering the Dark Kenyan and I am a little disappointed as the body feels a little thin to me and the roast is a bit overly dark, at times a hair burnt. It’s still a good coffee, but not what I was hoping for."
