In medieval times, if you really wanted a shot at getting the girl, you needed to be a little dangerous. The black knights were notorious bringers of mayhem, calamity, and all-around awesomeness - just like this blend. We created this mythically dark combination to commemorate our favorite anti-hero and ladies' man, the Black Knight.

"Very good choice for a rich, full body, and smooth decaf. Health issues required me to curtail my caffeine consumption and I worried I’d find an acceptable decaf replacement. I tried many varieties, first with the big brands found in supermarkets, then on to smaller online specialty roasters. There may be others that would check all the boxes I look for but Organic Black Knight is the best of the best. I’m curious about the origin of the name but I’m done searching, I found what I was looking for."

- Are the Black Knight decaf pods tested for molds, toxins, etc., as is stated about the Peruvian and other types? Are all of your coffees tested for molds, toxins, etc.?
- Black Knight Decaf is not mold and mycotoxin tested. Frostbite Decaf as well as Peru Decaf are the mold, mycotoxin and pesticide tested options! Team FRC
- Does "water processed" means Swiss Water method, or is it something different? Thank you.
- This is a great question and I’m sure lots of people are wondering the same thing! Swiss Water® is a registered trademark of Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee Inc in Canada. Their process uses steam and fresh water to remove caffeine from coffee beans. Fresh Roasted Coffee purchases Swiss Water decaf coffee as well as coffee that has been decaffeinated using the Royal Select Water Process and the Mountain Water Process. These other companies also use a combination of steam and water. Are they EXACTLY the same? You’d probably have to ask their lawyers. But they claim to achieve the same results - 99.9% caffeine removal with less loss of body and taste. We’ve switched from labeling most of our decafs* as Swiss, Royal, or Mountain Water Processed because coffee availability changes from season to season which means decaf availability changes as well. Labeling with the more general terminology gives us the flexibility to purchase coffee beans at the best prices and pass these savings on to our customers. *Water-processed decafs only. Other decaf methods will be noted in the description and/or title.
- What is the coffee weight in each pod? I recently purchased two varieties from different vendors, one had .37 oz./pod and the other .33 oz./pod. Both were medium roast and you wouldn't think it would make that much of a difference but it really did.
