Organic Black Knight Water-Processed Decaf - Classic Coffee Pods

Dark Roast with a Bold Body

Don't let the "decaf" part fool you—our Black Knight Water-Processed Decaf brings the flavor! You'll get dangerously delicious notes of plantains and caramelized sugar, all wrapped up in a wonderfully bold body with a smooth finish. And the best part? It's water-process decaffeinated, so it's 99.9% caffeine-free with no harsh chemicals. Enjoy!

Some knights of ancient legend are known for being heroes of justice and protectors of the innocent. However, not all knights were noble. We all know nice guys never rescue the princess. In medieval times, if you really wanted a shot at getting the girl, you needed to be a little dangerous. The black knights were notorious bringers of mayhem, calamity, and all-around awesomeness - just like this blend. We created this mythically dark combination to commemorate our favorite anti-hero and ladies' man, the Black Knight.

Reviews

Very Nice Dark Organic Blend

"This is an organic blend of dark roasted beans. I've used it for a nice espresso, love the dark notes and lots of crema since it so fresh. In the Chemex its got a great bloom too, which of course speaks to the freshness. Thanks to the roasters for a great organic dark blend!"

DIFFERENT COFFEE EXPERIENCE

"This coffee is both bold and also different in a way I haven't pinned down yet. Sort of bold and mellow at the same time. A unique experience and I will buy more. Now if I could get a flavorful Columbian decaf my life would be complete. That is next on the list if they have it."

— Rebecca N. (5/5)

Great coffee and great service!

"I had to cut back on my caffeine intake, so ordered some Black Knight decaf beans so I could mix up some half-caf. Flavor is wonderful, same as regular Black Knight coffee. Love this stuff! Only complaint is FedEx took around 12 days to deliver it."

The perfect dark decaf

"I’m blown away by how good this decaf is. I tried 5 other major company types and they all left me with medium medium dark taste at best. This is a true dark roast with no caffeine, meaning I can drink it before bed when the mood strikes me. Delicious through and through"

Q&A

Are the Black Knight decaf pods tested for molds, toxins, etc., as is stated about the Peruvian and other types? Are all of your coffees tested for molds, toxins, etc.?
Black Knight Decaf is not mold and mycotoxin tested. Frostbite Decaf as well as Peru Decaf are the mold, mycotoxin and pesticide tested options! Team FRC
Does "water processed" means Swiss Water method, or is it something different? Thank you.
This is a great question and I’m sure lots of people are wondering the same thing! Swiss Water® is a registered trademark of Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee Inc in Canada. Their process uses steam and fresh water to remove caffeine from coffee beans. Fresh Roasted Coffee purchases Swiss Water decaf coffee as well as coffee that has been decaffeinated using the Royal Select Water Process and the Mountain Water Process. These other companies also use a combination of steam and water. Are they EXACTLY the same? You’d probably have to ask their lawyers. But they claim to achieve the same results - 99.9% caffeine removal with less loss of body and taste. We’ve switched from labeling most of our decafs* as Swiss, Royal, or Mountain Water Processed because coffee availability changes from season to season which means decaf availability changes as well. Labeling with the more general terminology gives us the flexibility to purchase coffee beans at the best prices and pass these savings on to our customers. *Water-processed decafs only. Other decaf methods will be noted in the description and/or title.
What is the coffee weight in each pod? I recently purchased two varieties from different vendors, one had .37 oz./pod and the other .33 oz./pod. Both were medium roast and you wouldn't think it would make that much of a difference but it really did.
Hello, Our pods contain different weights ranging from .35 oz/pod to .42 oz/pod. It all depends on the roast level of the coffee. Hope this helps! Team FRC
What are the ingredients? Do the pods contain any sugar?
Hi Cathy! ALL Fresh Roasted Coffee products contain one thing - coffee! No additives EVER! Black Knight Swiss Water Decaf coffee pods contain a proprietary blend of coffees from Central America and Indonesia, but nothing else. Hope that helps! TeamFRC
