Delicious coffee...kinda tricky

"Just put in an order for this pour over device to replace a very old plastic one. First, it makes delicious coffee! We use a paper cone-shaped filter (fold the bottom just so) for ease of cleanup, not because there was any excess sediment. It's a little tricky to pick up the two pieces of the apparatus at the same time to move it but once you get used to it it's fine. Also, the brown plastic tab to hold onto the filter component keeps sliding off...but it is necessary to keep from burning your fingers just after pouring boiling water through it! For the yummy coffee, it's worth the little inconveniences."

Q&A

What is the diameter and the depth of the filter? I am looking to put it in my pour over coffee maker and want to make sure it will fit.
The edge-to-edge diameter of the filter is just under 5 inches (12.5 cm) while the diameter not including the rim is 4.5 inches (11 cm). Top-to-bottom, the filter measures just over 3.5 inches (9 cm).

Your stainless steel filter with the pour-over dripper worked great for a little while, but has gotten seriously clogged. I grind my beans pretty fine, so that is probably a contributing factor. Soap and very hot water or a vinegar solution do not clean out the fine pores. What are your suggestions?
Great question! The clogging is a factor of both the fine grind and the oils present in the beans. To counteract that, we recommend soaking in hot water to allow the metal to expand, then using Dawn (or any other dishwashing liquid that can break down oils) and scrubbing with a toothbrush on the inside and the outside. Be sure to rinse well!
