Organic Papua New Guinea - Roasted Coffee

This is more than just coffeeโ€”it's an experience harvested from the lush, fertile highlands of the Bena Bena Valley, situated right along Papua New Guinea's legendary "Highlands Highway." Our Organic Papua New Guinea Coffee delivers a truly bold and satisfying cup that stands apart. This coffee is smooth and notably sweet with a medium body and creamy mouthfeel. The initial taste reflects candied walnut, chocolate, and spices and ends with a dark and fruity, remarkably clean finish.

Coffee first flourished here after the introduction of the prized Jamaican Typica variety (often called Blue Mountain). Today, our premium organic coffee beans are sourced from smallholder plots known locally as gardens. These gardens are integral to the community, serving not only as sources for exceptional Papua New Guinea arabica coffee but also for a diverse array of food crops, ensuring both quality and sustainability.

Papua New Guinea Bena Bena Valley Organic Coffee: Bold, Sweet, & Remarkably Clean

While many Indo-Pacific coffees are wet-hulled, our PNG coffee is meticulously wet-processed (fully washed). This crucial difference in processing is key to its spectacular flavor. This processing method develops a prominent, natural sweetness, while eliminating the heavy, earthy, or vegetal flavors often associated with other regional varieties, resulting in an exceptionally clean cup of coffee.

Ingredients: Organic 100% Arabica coffee.

Organic certified by PA Certified Organic. OU Kosher certified. Produced in an SQF-certified, renewable energy-powered facility.

At Fresh Roasted Coffee, we're pioneering the future of coffee. Our advanced, eco-friendly roasters unlock superior flavor in every bean while consuming less fuel and producing fewer emissions. In 2024, we're taking our commitment a step further. The launch of our new solar array will position us as one of the cleanest commercial roasters in the nation, proving that the most delicious coffee can also be the most sustainable.

PNG coffee

"I switched to Fresh Roasted Coffee after our local roastery discontinued PNG beans. I must say the FRC stuff is even more flavorful and full bodied than the one I used to drink. I find it perfect for making espresso without the bitter taste most dark roast beans produce. My subscription always comes on time; the coffee is always fresh. I would highly recommend both the company and the beans."

A Welcome Break

"It was a rough week. Yard work, pollen allergies, car problems, poison ivy growing up the back steps and then our refrigerator died. The only good thing was sitting on the porch this morning with our delicious Papuan New Guinea coffee, and listening to the birds and hum of our brand new refrigerator. Thank you."

Not the usual Java

"I usually do not care for coffees from Asia or the South Pacific. They tend to be too smokey or and tobacco-y for my tasty but I wanted to try the Papua New Guinea coffee. Don’t even know they grew coffee there. Glad to say that the coffee has less tabacco bitterness and more nutty and herbal bitterness."

William H. (5/5)

Very smooth

"Love this coffee. Bold but very smooth without the bite."

Rodney L. (5/5)

Wonderful Single Origin Coffee

"Freshly roasted coffee ground each morning makes the best cup. A single origin coffee with a wonderful aroma and taste. No need for sugar or cream with a coffee that tastes this good."

Jamison H. (5/5)

Delicious tasting coffee

"It was the first time trying this coffee. The body of this coffee was flavorful, no overwhelming acidity. I would buy again."

Bernarda B. (5/5)

The perfect companion

"I like to hand blend medium and dark roasts, and I've discovered that Papua New Guinea is the ideal complement to the Dark Roadt Costa Rican Tarrazu. A superb mash-up to start the morning."

Daniel G. (5/5)

Love PNG coffee

"I had gotten into the habit of adding cream. This coffee doesn’t need it, and is not enhanced by it; it’s quite delicious black. I’ve loved PNG coffee since first trying it 40 years ago, now I have a source, and a subscription for regular delivery."

Ben T. (5/5)

Excellent bold brew

"Love this organic single origin. Consistent smooth brew, I enjoy it black or sometimes fancied up into a mocha. I keep it simple and use a clever dripper and brew one mug at a time."
