It's no secret that we're fans of cold brew. It's on tap year 'round here at FRC. However, there are those of us that wanted something with a little more snap. Something darker - something bolder. An icicle-between-the-eyes guaranteed brain freeze. We thawed out our frozen roastmaster and gave him our demands. And oh, did he ever come through!

Using a blend of organic Arabica coffee beans from around the world, this extra dark, extra bold, outstandingly smooth cold brew has notes of dark brown sugar and roasted hazelnut along with a hint of cocoa and toffee. If you love cold brew like we love cold brew - and you're not afraid of the dark - then Dark & Bold Organic Frostbite is a dream come true.

• Cold Brew Ground - Ready to brew in your Toddy, Icosa, or any other cold brew maker!

• Whole Bean - Grind as you need it!

The perfect cold brew is different for everyone. We've seen all kinds of different coffee-to-water ratios, but we like to keep ours simple: 2 ounces of coarse-ground coffee to one quart (4 cups) of water and a long 24-hour steep. Dilute the concentrate with water, ice, and/or your favorite dairy/non-dairy mixers. As with all things coffee-related, adjust to your taste.

Store cold brew in the fridge for up to a week - but it's so good it won't last nearly that long! Note from the FRC Insiders - Organic Frostbite Cold Brew is also delicious as drip coffee and espresso.

For best results when using a commercial cold brew maker, follow the directions specified by the manufacturer.

"We’re not snobby about our coffee. But we can tell the difference between church Coffee and good coffee. And this is no Church coffee. Right when you open the bag you get a delicious whiff of something that has real complexity, not just Dunkin Arabica. I chose to make hot French press and brew for close to 10 minutes to get every molecule of flavor. It has a rich but subtle flavor and is surprisingly smooth. I prefer to buy in 5lb bags. The price is right compared to other independent coffee roasters. However, compared to other mold and mycotoxin - free certified coffees, Fresh Roasted is unbeatable. In fact, most other competitors are at least twice the price."

Give the FRC dark roasts a try, you’ll fall in love!

"Smooth and rich. I use 1 Splenda packet per 2 double shots. I could have used 1/2 a packet. I make a hot latte every morning and have been making a late afternoon one as I just love it! Great aroma and nuanced flavor notes shine through. I don’t think I’ll use it as iced espresso drink. This is my 5th bag I have tried. I buy darker and darkest roast only. Each one is literally better than the previous. I have 3 others left in my order. Keep up the great work!"

"This is the best cold brew coffee!! The taste is very smooth and bold. I do consider myself a coffee snob. I love my coffee and it has to be great coffee or I don’t drink it. I drink a cup every morning. You must try Frostbite!!!! There is something I don’t like… having to wait 24 hours for my cold brew!! so I make sure I never went out. My husband probably won’t recognize me if I didn’t have my coffee every morning. I love my coffee, strong like my man!! And I love having a subscription then I never run out and I always have more. I highly recommend Frostbite Cold Brew."

A smooth, delicious cold brew

"Frostbite makes a smooth cold brew, with no bite or bitterness. It is necessary to adjust the amount used to suit one’s tastes; I used more, and brewed at room temperature for 18-24 hours to use as a concentrate. I have ordered the regular and decaf multiple times, mixing the two based on my caffeine needs, which I recommend. This is another high-quality coffee from FRC."
