Bodum® Chambord French Press

Discover the art of the perfect brew with the Chambord French press coffee maker. The French press system is beloved by coffee aficionados worldwide for its simplicity of brewing and purity of taste. And the Chambord is the original and best French press coffee maker.

An icon of Bodum, the Chambord is synonymous with the Bodum name. The original design dates back to the pre-war period when the Italian Attilo Calimani developed the basic principle. Bodum founder, Jørgen Bodum, began work on his version of the French press in the 1970s, but it was the acquisition of Melior-Martin in 1991 – a company that produced a dome-shaped French press – that led to the development of the classic Chambord we know and love today.

A true original, the Chambord has a timeless design and is produced with the same superior craftsmanship its devotees worldwide have come to expect. An environmentally friendly method of brewing, the French press system epitomizes Bodum’s core belief that we should ‘make taste, not waste’.

Main Features & Benefits

  • Iconic French press coffee maker that brings out the full flavor and aroma of your brew.
  • The carafe is made of non-stain, heat-resistant borosilicate glass that won’t alter or impair the coffee’s natural flavor.
  • The frame and lid are made from durable stainless steel that’s undergone several chrome-plating processes to result in a durable, shiny surface capable of withstanding many years of use.
  • The handle is made from Polypropylene with a matte finish that gives a comfortable grip while serving and adds to the classic quality of the design.
  • Stainless steel plunger prevents ground beans from escaping when the coffee is poured.
  • More environmentally friendly than many coffee-brewing methods – no paper filters or plastic capsules required.
  • Easy to use and easy to clean.

How it Works

The French press system is the simplest way to brew rich, flavorful coffee.

  1. Place the Chambord on a flat surface, hold the handle firmly, and pull the plunger up and out of the carafe.
  2. Add one rounded teaspoon or one level coffee scoop of coarsely ground coffee for each cup/4oz water.
  3. Pour hot water into the carafe (about 195-205ºF) leaving a minimum of 2.5cm/1inch at the top, and stir with a plastic or wooden spoon.
  4. Place the plunger unit on top of the pot and turn the lid so the pour spout is closed to retain the heat.
  5. Leave four minutes to brew, then slowly lower the plunger. Turn the lid to open the pour spout and pour your delicious cup of joe.

Use & Care

Wash in warm, soapy water before first use and dry thoroughly.

*All Bodum coffee and tea makers are measured in European cup sizes: 1 Cup = about 4oz.

Beautiful and worthy of the

"Beautiful and worthy of the price. Just remember that a slow press keeps the grounds from getting in the coffee and brings a full flavor."

great complement to my regular morning coffee.

"this rounds out the flavor of having Italian espresso; brewed and pressed."

Waste of money

"I am so disappointed in this product. It is such a waste of money. The frame that holds the glass is plastic! The glass easily spins around and comes out of the frame when you pull the plunger out. The plastic frame itself is very thin and flimsy. When you plunge the coffee down, the frame bends! The glass is very thin and in my opinion the glass will break soon if I continue using this press. I trusted freshroastedcoffee.com to sell great coffee appliances since they have the best coffee. I was wrong. I have already thrown the packaging in the recycle, otherwise I would try to return this horrible French press."

Nowhere near 3 cups!

"I like the press as far as quality, but i thought it was 3 cups..it says 3 cups. It only holds 12 ounces filled to the top. Considering the coffee and the press plunger, you can only comfortably get about 9 to 10 ounces of water/coffee in it. So essentially, it's a 1 cup press. I would have never spent $30 for a 1 cup press."

Beautiful French Press!

"My fiance and I love french press coffee. This Bodum Chambord 12 Cup French Press is one of our favorite brewers for making coffee and tea! It's stylish, easy to clean and makes just the right amount of coffee/tea every time. You can't beat the price either! Very affordable. Thanks so much Fresh Roasted Coffee! We love you!"

Nice French Press

"French Roasted Coffee replaced this item that broken in shipping when I purchased it and I'm very happy with the quality of the press and the service I received. The press is nice, with a locking top and value that makes pouring the coffee clean and easy. Very nice french press!"
