    Java Taman Dadar Coffee

Java coffee has been cultivated on the Indonesian island of Java since the late 1600s; the first Dutch sailing ships carrying coffee back to Europe can be traced back to 1711. These ships would often stop at the port of Mokka in what is now modern-day Yemen and combine the Javanese coffee with the local production, resulting in the famous Mocca-Java blend. Most of the trees in Java at that time were planted in low-lying areas and by the late 1800s, they had become infested with coffee rust, a defoliant disease that thrives at lower altitudes due to the warmer climate. This was extremely detrimental to the quality and volume of coffee coming out of Java for several decades. This forced coffee production up to the highlands, where volcanic soil and higher altitudes laid the groundwork for a much better crop. Taman Dadar means "flower garden" which is the name the local farmers give to their area. This coffee comes from smallholder farmers in the villages of Curah Tatal and Kayumas on the Ijen Plateau in eastern Java. After employing organic farming techniques for generations, the farmers obtained organic certification enabling them to receive a premium for their production of this excellent coffee.

Fine Ground: At a fine grind, coffee should be soft to the touch – slightly finer than granulated sugar.

Espresso: Great espresso requires skill, patience and quality equipment. Without these things, and a proper grind, espresso can be thin and weak or over extracted and clog in the portafilter. The perfect grind is essential to reaching espresso nirvana; an intensely rich and creamy extraction with thick crema and well rounded flavor.
    Grind: Fine/Very Fine

Aeropress: The Aeropress is a quick and efficient way to make flavorful, rich coffee with low acidity and bitterness. With specially designed micro-filter technology the Aeropress consistently provides some of the best coffee in just under 20 seconds.
    Grind: Fine/Medium

Medium Ground: At a medium grind, coffee should be gritty like sand with no considerably large pieces.

Auto Drip Pot: The Auto Drip style coffee maker is an efficient and hassle-free way to make a fresh pot. With the correct grind and water to coffee ratio, it IS possible to get a great cup of coffee using this method.
    Grind: Medium

Chemex: The Chemex is an elegant brewing device that extracts only the purest, most flavorful coffee without any bitterness or sediment. Because of the incredible functionality and design, the Chemex, paired with Chemex Bonded Filters, create a pure coffee experience unlike any other.
    Grind: Medium/Coarse

Coarse Ground: At a coarse grind, coffee is separated into large fragments similar to grained kosher salt.

French Press: The French Press is a classic and easy way to prepare decadent and smooth coffee and can easily be converted to brew cold coffee. The coffee grounds and water are separated by a fine mesh plunger leaving only fresh brewed coffee after 5 short minutes.
    Grind: Coarse

Toddy Cold Brew: The Toddy Cold Brew system is a simple and consistent way to extract a delicious and low-acid brew. Oils and fatty acids that would normally settle into hot coffee are eliminated leaving you with a perfectly balanced and smooth cup of iced coffee.

One of my favorite coffees around. Java has similar notes of Sulawesi and Sumatra, but overall a smoother cup. Leaves pleasant aftertaste and suitable throughout the day.

This Java (Taman Dadar) produces an enjoyable cup of a smooth, black tea like experience with tones of cedar, herb, and earthy syrup. None of the tones over power but round out a smooth cup of coffee. I was pleasantly surprised with the different tones, ones I hadn't experienced before and it makes a smooth mouth experience as well, nearly like thick black tea for the most part. Smooth finish with with the overall tones just hanging out a bit at the end, black tea like finish. A very enjoyable cup, I will definitely buy again to change up my favorites.

I really like the Taman Jadar ("Flower Garden") variety. Goes down smooth with a bit of chocolate and earthy notes. I prefer a less acidic bean, and this one fills the bill.

Great coffee for after dinner or Sunday morning paper!

I've been trying different kinds of organic coffee for some time now (past 1-2 yrs) to replace my Folgers Brazilian Blend. I am going all organic so I started searching on Amazon, since a lot of stores don't really have many options in brands/quantity/flavors yet. I found this company on Amazon, and boy am I glad I did. I've found a few different blends I love, especially this one. It's probably my favorite so far. The best part is smelling the beans, I inhale them as if it were my oxygen. The aroma is intoxicating and I look forward to every cup. It is perfect and was very easy to figure out the right measurements for my taste buds. There are so many options here if I get bored with my current blend, I will never be tired of this company. Thank you so much for putting out great quality organic coffees. This is far better than any kind I've found in the stores.
