Three Valentine's Drinks to "Sweeten" Your Holiday

It's (almost) Valentine's Day! Have you gotten those chocolates yet? What about that oh-so-perfect card covered in glitter hearts? A dinner reservation at your favorite fancy restaurant?

No? That's all right. You could probably find a $50 bouquet last minute, or you could surprise your Valentine with these decadent (and affordable) coffee drink recipes. Imagine the look on their beautiful face when you bring them a handmade treat. There's no gift better than one you made yourself, especially when it's made with love.

We've got a Red Velvet Latte for bae, Sweethearts' Mocha Sodas to split, and a Cupid Cappuccino with notes of mint and amaretto. Let's get right into ‘em.

Red Velvet Latte

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Brewed Coffee
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp. Sugar
  • 3 drops Red Food Coloring
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 cup Chocolate Morsels
  • Whipped Cream
  • Heart Shaped Sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. Add milk and sugar to a sauce pan and bring to a simmer on medium heat.
  2. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate morsels until melted. *Save a few chocolate morsels for garnish.
  4. Stir in coffee, vanilla extract, and food coloring.
  5. Garnish with whipped cream, chocolate morsels, and heart shaped sprinkles.

Mocha Coffee Soda for Two

Makes 2 Drinks

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. Strong, Black, Cold Coffee
  • 8 oz. Seltzer Water
  • 2 scoops Chocolate Ice Cream
  • Whipped Cream
  • Heart Shaped Sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. Add 1 big scoop of chocolate ice cream to each glass.
  2. Pour 4 oz. coffee each into two tall, chilled glasses.
  3. Pour 4 oz. seltzer water into each glass and stir.
  4. Add whipped cream to each glass.
  5. Garnish both glasses with heart shaped sprinkles.

Cupid Cappuccino

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Chocolate Syrup
  • 1/4 oz. Creme De Menthe
  • 1/2 oz. Amaretto
  • 1 oz. Espresso
  • 4 oz. Frothed Milk
  • Whipped Cream
  • Heart Shaped Sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. Add one shot of esspresso to glass.
  2. Add chocolate syrup, creme de menthe, and amaretto. Stir together.
  3. Add frothed milk.
  4. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles.
