With the glorious age of smartphones upon us, nothing seems out of reach. When it comes to coffee however, sometimes things can get overwhelming.
1) Starbucks App – Free from the App Store
This application allows you to manage your loyalty points and pay directly from your phone using Passbook. There is an additional section of the app that allows you to keep track of your favorite drinks and your friend’s usual orders. However, if you plan on redeeming your receipt later for a free drink, make sure you get a paper copy. The Starbucks app can’t keep track of digital receipts.
1) Dunkin Donuts App - Free from the App Store
Similar to the Starbucks app, the Dunkin app allows you to pay through Passbook for iOS. It also allows you to search for nearby store locations and send gift cards to friends. However, you might as well take notes in your phone if you can’t remember your favorite order; there is no way to log orders or manage recipes in this app.
2) Coffee Order - $0.99 from the App Store
This application is not affiliated with any corporation in particular. It is designed to help you manage coffee orders for large groups of friends, family or co-workers. Nonfat? Soy? Extra shots? You’re covered. With over 5 million drink combinations, it would be incredibly difficult to find an order Coffee Order couldn’t handle.
3) Coffee Guru - $1.99 from the App Store
With over over 7,000 entries and ratings for amazing, local coffee houses, this app is a great addition to your Iphone if you’re looking for a new place to grab a cup and some conversation. Read reviews and find location information from coffee lovers all around the world.
4) New York’s Best Coffee - $0.99 from the App Store
If you’re in the city and looking for a new coffee shop to try, this app is a great way to research the creme de la creme of New York coffee houses. There is a section of the application that allows you to see where certain coffee shops get their beans from, especially if you are looking into wholesale purchase or a DIY in home coffee experiment. Another app of similar fashion is in development for London coffee shops.
5) Barista - $2.99 from the App Store
Interested at trying your hand in making some delicious espresso drinks at home? This app is an excellent way to educate yourself on the fine art of coffee making and barista etiquette. Complete with coffee dictionary, step by step instructions and video presentations, this app truly has everything you’d ever need to turn your kitchen counter into a coffee shop.
